Introduction to Micro Computers – 1 credit – this course is required for graduation

Students will learn a general introduction to computers including the history of computers, hardware, software, binary numbers, the Windows operating system and four of the most commonly used computer software applications:  word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), databases (Access) and presentation software (PowerPoint).  Additional topics include integration, Microsoft networking basics, file management, Internet and E-mail use, digital cameras, scanners, desktop publishing and keyboarding practice.  Students will work with Microsoft Office 2007 in one of the IBM compatible labs.  This is an 'online' course and will be utilizing MOODLE for class projects and information.
